The HR Employees Universal E-mail interface provides a universal client interface for sending and receiving network E-mail using your underlying mail system.  The comprehensive capabilities of the Universal E-mail include:

  • Send and Receive e-mails from within HR Employees without opening your e-mail clients.
  • E-mail the employees resumes to your contacts from within the reports.
  • E-mail the employees, clients,and contacts from the data entry screens.
  • Save the e-mails received from your clients within the HR Employees database for future use.
The Universal E-mail supports the following E-mail interfaces and protocols:
  • SMTP/POP – The Internet mail protocols.  SMTP (Simple Mail Transport Protocol) is used for mail send.  POP (Post Office Protocol) is used for mail receive.  Universal E-mail supports v3.0 of POP. Universal E-mail is fully MIME (Multi-part Internet Mail Extension) compliant on send and receive.
  • VIM – Vendor Independent Messaging used by products such as Lotus cc: Mail and Lotus Notes.
  • MAPI – Messaging Application Program Interface supported by Microsoft products such as Microsoft Exchange, Novell GroupWise, and others.
  • Active Messaging – Active Messaging is a robust API that replaces MAPI on newer mail systems, especially Microsoft products.  It is an object-based interface to Extended MAPI.
  • Unsupported Mail Systems– Universal e-mail is not compatible (does not support) America Online (AOL), CompuServe, Prodigy, IBM Profs.   These e-mail systems use their proprietary protocols.
In the data entry screens, double-click on the e-mail address to open up the new mail dialog box with the e-mail address in the to box to allow you to send an e-mail.  From the reports, click on the e-mail button (where available) to send the e-mail as appropriate.  Then, enter the message and other information as appropriate and click on the Send button to send the e-mail.  For more information on e-mail, refer to the Mail Service.


HR Employees allows to generate the reports dynamically based on the your selections.   The dynamic reports allow selecting fields from one table (employees, clients, contacts, projects and tasks) at any given time or load any of the saved reports.  The dynamic reports even allow you to specify the filter criteria to limit your search criteria.


The HR Employees calendar allows you to easily schedule events or activities that you want to associate with a time and date.  HR Employees calendar allows viewing events in Daily, Weekly, or Monthly views.  The calendar also contains a yearly calendar.  You can make the calendar open automatically upon logging into the HR Employees and vice versa by clicking in the check box provided on the calendar.  The comprehensive capabilities of the calendar include:

  • Create, edit, or delete scheduled events.
  • Create reminders for events by associating an alarm to the event.
  • Attach notes and location for each event.
  • Mark events as tentative events.
  • Mark events as private and hide them from other to see them or edit them.
  • Create, edit, or delete To Do list.
  • Print your daily, weekly, monthly calendar in an easy-to-read format.


The HR Employees scheduler allows you to easily schedule your employees hourly, daily, and weekly work events or activities that you want to associate with a time and date.  By default, the Scheduler shows all the employees grouped by the department for easy selection.  The comprehensive capabilities of the Scheduler include:

  • Creat color-coded events depending on the schedule type chosen.
  • Modify the default schedule type by selecting the appropriate schedule type.
  • Zoom the schedule area by selecting the zoom percentage.
  • View the schedules/events either in hourly or daily formats.
  • Print your employees scheduler in any easy-to-read format.


  • Use the calendars to enter the dates avoiding the confusion of various international date formats
  • Store the World Wide Web addresses for the clients, contacts and employees, and launch their web sites from the within HR Employees with your favorite default browser
